THE FET ACADEMY PHILOSOPHY

PURPOSE

The FET Academy complements the 'traditional' club approach for U9 - U15 footballers created to provide the best developmental support with increased quality contact hours.
A model inspired from east coast academies that has showcased success in producing players who are strong enough to progress into professional clubs.
Designed by method to produce great people to become great players. Opportunities overseas & interstate are provided for selected players to allow them to experience, understand and even potentially offer professional pathways.
Players can only be accepted into the FET Academy through our trial process and/or invitation externally or internally through promotion from our development programs.

MENTALITY: Ownership for the way players can choose to think & operate.
CHARACTER: Becoming the best version of yourself and making the people around you better versions of themselves.
DEDICATION: Understanding the work-ethic, commitment and sacrifice that is required to becoming the best player you can be.

A methodical approach to development based on supporting players through relevant age-phase building blocks.

FET MINIS | U6 - U8 (Also known as; The FET Pre-Academy):

Players can enter the Minis program between the ages of 5 - 8 years. This is known as the Foundation Phase and are the beginning blocks to developing basic core-skills & motor development through a FUNdamental environment whereby players are exposed to hidden learning.

THE FET ACADEMY | U9 - U12:

With a heavy appreciation to the Skill Acquisition Phase our U8 - U11 players develop their technical principles and are exposed to begin their understanding to our style of play. During this time in their academy journey players are pushed to be able execute technical actions at a high level of intensity. Specialised Motor Skills & Athletic foundations are set for this group. Players develop principles of play in a 9v9 format to provide more touches all whilst preparing them for the bigger pitch. Every two years our U8 - U11 footballers are provided the opportunity to test themselves against some of Australia's best talent in a prestigious tournament in the east coast.

THE FET ACADEMY | U13 - U16:

Succesful graduates from the U9 - U11 academy progress into the game training phase stage in their development whereby great emphasis is placed on tactical & positional comprehension as well as individual contribution to collective performances. Athletic attributes are taken into greater consideration. Every second year, our U13 - U16 players are given the opportunity to travel to England to play against and train with English Premier League/ English Professional Leagues and Private Academies.
